Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Medical Technologist Discipline: Allied Health Professional Start Date: 05/04/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technician Shift: weekend day shift Sat/Sun (7A-7P) and 2- 8-hour shifts (8A to 430P) Employment Type: Full-Time (Local candidates preferred) Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in chemistry, orthopedics, and blood bank operations, along with hands-on expertise in Cerner systems and laboratory instrumentation. This role requires a detail-oriented professional capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment. Key Responsibilities: Perform laboratory testing in chemistry, blood bank, and related departments with accuracy and efficiency Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics chemistry analyzers Ensure proper handling, labeling, and processing of patient specimens Maintain compliance with all laboratory safety and regulatory standards Document and report test results accurately using Cerner Millennium and related systems Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure timely and accurate diagnostic services Support blood bank operations including crossmatching and transfusion-related testing Maintain inventory and ensure availability of necessary lab supplies Follow established protocols for pediatric specimen handling and testing Qualifications Minimum 3 years of relevant laboratory experience required Certification required: Registered Medical Laboratory Technician through ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology) or AMT (American Medical Technologists) Active AHA BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required Strong experience in: Chemistry Blood Bank Orthopedics (Ortho testing/equipment) Pediatric (Peds) patient testing Experience with: Cerner Millennium (required) Oracle systems (required) Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics analyzers (required) Phlebotomy skills preferred but not required Additional Requirements Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail Excellent communication and teamwork skills Must meet all pre-employment requirements (background check, drug screening, etc.) Local candidates strongly preferred Experience with: Cerner Millennium (required) Oracle systems (required) Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics analyzers (required) About Encode INC At Encode, we empower organizations and individuals through innovative, human-centric workforce and technology solutions.
