Department Bio - The George Washington University School of Nursing Simulation and Experiential Learning Lab located at the VSTC campus, Ashburn VA is a hands-on, interprofessional space that supports learning across the health sciences using simulation-based education. The lab features high-fidelity manikins, task trainers, standardized patients, and audiovisual systems to help learners build clinical skills, communication, and teamwork in a safe environment. Student Simulation Lab Assistants support daily lab activities by helping set up and break down simulations, maintaining equipment, and assisting faculty and learners during sessions, playing an important role in the smooth operation of the lab.
Position Specific Summary - Student Simulation Lab Assistant GWU School of Nursing The Student Simulation Lab Assistant supports the daily operations of the GWU Simulation and Experiential Learning Lab by performing basic laboratory duties and helping maintain supplies, equipment, and inventory. This role assists with preparing and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe learning environment for simulation-based education Tasks may include:
Standard Position Description - The student will perform basic laboratory duties and maintain supplies and stocks/inventory. Tasks may include: assisting in specific projects being completed in the lab; preparing experiments, cleaning equipment and lab space, caring for animals or plants, and assisting students. Special projects or other duties may be assigned related to specific departmental needs.

Required Qualifications - This is an entry level position, little to no experience required, all training will be provided (Students working in an instructional capacity should be very familiar with the subject area in which they are working).
Preferred Qualifications - Students who have a working knowledge of nursing patient care, medication labels, medical equipment and supplies.
