We’re partnering with an organization seeking a Director of Procurement- Indirect Procurement with hands‑on experience sourcing transportation and facilities‑related services .
This role owns strategy and value delivery across key indirect categories , including:
✅ Transportation (over‑the‑road & ocean)
✅ Warehousing
✅ Utilities & facilities
✅ Additional indirect spend categories
You’ll lead cross‑functional sourcing initiatives, drive TCO reduction , manage supplier relationships, and develop a high‑performing procurement team in a global environment.
What You’ll Be Doing:
✅ Lead cross‑functional strategic sourcing initiatives across indirect spend categories
✅ Own and execute sourcing strategies for transportation (over‑the‑road & ocean), warehousing, utilities, and facilities , as well as other indirect categories (MRO, capital, services, etc.)
✅ Develop and implement category strategies that balance cost, quality, service, and supply assurance
✅ Partner closely with internal stakeholders to align procurement strategies with business needs
✅ Collaborate with global and cross‑business category leaders to drive enterprise‑wide initiatives
✅ Deliver annual cost savings, value creation, and working capital improvements
✅ Lead complex supplier negotiations and contract development
✅ Build strong, collaborative supplier relationships that encourage innovation and continuous improvement
✅ Ensure procurement strategies are embedded into core business processes
✅ Monitor market trends, capacity, and supplier dynamics—particularly within transportation and facilities services
✅ Develop financial plans, savings targets, and forecasts across assigned spend
✅ Provide regular reporting on performance, savings, and value delivery
✅ Lead, coach, and develop procurement team members; support talent development and succession planning
What We’re Looking For:
7+ years of procurement and/or supply chain leadership experience
Direct experience procuring transportation services (OTR & ocean), warehousing, utilities, and facilities
Background working within a mature procurement organization
Proven success leading indirect sourcing strategies across multiple categories
Strong people leadership, coaching, and stakeholder influence skills
Experience operating in a global or international business environment
Advanced negotiation, communication, and supplier relationship management skills
Ability to translate strategy into actionable plans and measurable results
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
Work Schedule: On site, travel between locations as needed, up to 25%
Compensation: $200-240k
