Payroll Specialist

Location: Clayton, MO

Salary: $70,000 - $84,000

Schedule: Hybrid schedule available of up to 1 day remote per week

Focus

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for supporting Olin payroll operations through executing key payroll related tasks while ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing.

Payroll Specialist Essential Job Functions

1. Prepare and process weekly, bi-weekly, and semi-monthly payrolls, including creating, reviewing, and/or adjusting payroll entries, earnings and deductions
2. Analyze and reconcile payroll discrepancies for union, non-union and salary employees
3. Process, print, seal and distribute paychecks
4. Responsible for monthly printing of Pension checks and annual printing of Forms 1099-R
5. Develop and document process improvements
6. Test system updates/upgrades
7. Provide backup support for other Payroll personnel
8. Liaison between employees, supervisors, HR, Leave team and Olin locations

Payroll Specialist Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associates degree preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant payroll-related experience
• Must be able to manage multiple processes and work well under time sensitive deadlines
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; Proficiency in PeopleSoft/Workday and Kronos/UKG Dimensions preferred
• Superior communication (verbal and written), organization, time management, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills required
• Must demonstrate strong attention to detail and be team-oriented
• Must exercise diplomacy, discretion, and confidentiality at all times
