Job Description
The essential duties of the Painter - Hotel are to maintain, repair and achieve optimal aesthetics all wall & ceiling surfaces in the hotel. This role reports directly to the Director/Assistant Director of Engineer. The Painter will be an experienced professional with strong working knowledge of surface preparation, mixing/blending plaster, structo-Lite, etc, effectively and efficiently use appropriate brushes, rollers, etc. to apply paint, stains, varnishes & other coatings to walls, ceilings, etc.
Job Description
Provide for an exceptional guest experience
Work in a safe, clean and efficient manner
Make necessary on-site preparations (securing area, covering FF&E, etc.), floor surfaces, as necessary
Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, sandpaper, removing old paint.
Fill cracks and holes with appropriate material (ie compound, plaster)
Skim coating of wall surfaces
Mix paint and other materials to prepare the right color or texture
Very adept and experienced with using associated tools and equipment, ie; rollers, brushes, scrapers, sanders, etc.
Adhere to all health and safety precautions
Perform duties as reasonably assigned
Requirements
Prior experience working in a fast paced, high-end environment providing extraordinary guest experience
Preferably at least four (4) years of experience preferred.
Excellent service orientated attitude
Excellent interpersonal skills to partner with colleagues under pressure.
Perform work assignments with minimal supervision.
A high school diploma is required.
Fluency in English language; additional language skills and knowledge preferred
Must be able to stand for an 8-hour shift
Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds
Bending, climbing, reaching, stooping, and moving fast without discomfort
Must be able to use of ladders, scaffolding, scissor lift, etc.
Must be able to work on nights, weekends, and holidays.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Certification with Scissor lift, scaffolding preferred.
