Live-in Newborn Care Specialist required for a happy and loving UWS family with a newborn (baby due mid July). The family is seeking a knowledgeable and proactive individual who can apply their experience of normal infant growth and development to provide exemplary emotional and physical support to both baby and parents. The parents are looking for someone up to date with all current methods and techniques across all aspects of newborn care to help guide, support and educate them with their first child. Specific duties include, but are not limited to, bottle feeding support, newborn hygiene, swaddling/comforting and age appropriate sleep guidance. You must be engaged, have excellent communication skills and be able to support the family with a strong empathetic approach. Someone who is organized, proactive and values cleanliness will be a strong match for this family. The ideal candidate is a nurturing and calm individual who loves babies! Location: UWS, NY. Candidates should be flexible to provide live-in support across multiple locations during the contract. Their daughter will be born via surrogate in Ohio (NCS will travel to Ohio once the baby is born). Time will also be spent in NYC and the Hamptons - family expects to be at their East Hamptons home for the month of August. Start date: Mid July through mid November (4 month live in contract) Days/times: Live in support. 20 hrs on / 4 hrs continuous time off per day. After the first 30 days, likely 1 day off/week or 2 days off/every 2 weeks depending on candidate and family preference. Children: Newborn (daughter expected mid July via surrogate) Conditions: Family open to hourly or daily rate ($600-$700/per day) dependent on experience and qualifications + unlimited metrocard. For further consideration, applicants must possess the following: A minimum of 5 years experience as an NCS, 5-10 years + preferred in private homes NCS certification is required A well-suited demeanor for working with newborns and partnering with first time parents Exceptional childcare references that attest to strong communication skills, reliability, punctuality, maturity and high emotional intelligence Strong background in bottle support/techniques and newborn/infant sleep education Ability to complete all child related duties (including, but not limited to: bottle preparation/sanitation, etc, cleaning up/tidying nursery and laundry) Demonstrates professionalism and discretion at all times, reflecting the high standards and values prioritized by the family Fluency in both oral and written English #J-18808-Ljbffr
