Carney, Sandoe & Associates, an education recruitment firm, is currently seeking a German Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year at a boarding school in Wheeling, WV.

German Teacher Responsibilities:

• Teach five sections of German courses for upper school students.
• Develop engaging lesson plans and curricula tailored to the needs and skill levels of individual students.
• Teach German language skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing through a variety of instructional methods.
• Create opportunities for students to practice conversational German and improve pronunciation and comprehension.
• Communicate with parents regarding student progress and behavior.
• Participate in regular professional development activities to stay current with best practices and innovation in language education.
• Serve as an advisor for students, overseeing their academic and social growth.
• Assist with residential life duties as needed.

German Teacher Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in German, Linguistics, Education, or related required. Master's degree preferred.
• Proven written and verbal proficiency in German.
• 2-3 years of previous K-12 teaching experience.
• No teaching license or credential is required.
• Strong interpersonal as well as written and verbal communication skills.
• Organized, dependable, and eager to contribute to the school community.
• Willingness to assist with extracurricular and school community activities.

Additional Desired Qualities:

• Knowledge of ACTFL standards preferred.
