Job Description

Position Summary In addition to direct guest interaction, supervise the front desk team, offering real‑time coaching and training to ensure every agent meets our service standards. Understanding business operations create and manage shift schedules and assist with complex follow‑ups and guest needs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Lead the full employee lifecycle for front desk and bell staff, including hiring, orientation, scheduling, payroll via Kronos, and conducting seasonal performance reviews. Provide daily supervision, motivation, and delegation to staff while ensuring strict adherence to departmental procedures, professional appearance, and work ethic. Develop and implement ongoing training programs and orientations to enhance the team's guest service skills, technical proficiency, and regional product knowledge. Monitor and manage departmental finances, including budgets, labor costs, revenue goals, and long‑term planning, while ensuring essential supplies and guest resources are maintained. Coordinate daily operations through shift briefings, am/pm logs, and accurate occupancy reporting to ensure seamless transitions and VIP service. Champion exceptional guest experiences by resolving issues professionally, supporting concierge functions, and performing front desk duties alongside the team as needed. Foster a positive work environment by recognizing and rewarding high performance and addressing disciplinary matters immediately. Collaborate closely with the Manager to execute delegated tasks and attend weekly operations meetings to represent the department. Supervisory Responsibilities In conjunction with the Front Desk Manager, supervise front desk, bell, and concierge staff. Requirements Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Effectively communicate information and respond to inquiries from clients and the public using professional telephone etiquette and interpersonal skills. Maintain a friendly, professional, cheerful, and courteous demeanor. Ability to multitask and solve problems quickly in a fast‑paced environment. Apply common sense and reasoning to carry out complex instructions and resolve problems involving multiple variables in standardized situations. Expertly use Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word), and hotel reservation systems. Maintain deep familiarity with Telluride region to assist guests effectively. Apply management experience to lead, train, and motivate staff toward excellence in customer relations. Must be able to work nights, weekends, holidays and overtime as the job requires. Education and/or Experience High School diploma/GED or 2 - 3 years supervisory experience in a front office or guest services hospitality industry. Experience working in a high-volume seasonal resort environment a plus. While performing the duties of this Job, the noise level is moderate to high during peak periods. Although temperature controlled the employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions. Activity level typically requires a high level of standing/walking per shift, occasional lifting and bending. Employee should be able to function effectively at elevations of 10,000 feet or higher.
