Essential Duties and Tasks Operation of Fast Hole EDM CNC machine cutting cooling holes for engine parts Set-up and operate machines, load/unload parts, and communicate changes and results (in writing and verbally) while adhering to a strict time schedule. Demonstrate ability to read prints, inspect parts using precision gages Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to customer specifications, using precision measuring tools and equipment as necessary (micrometers, calipers, gauges ('pin', 'thread', 'indicator', 'height'), optical comparators and coordinate measuring machines (CMM)). Good mechanical aptitude and some 'shop math' is required. Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces, adhering to international standards. Maintains specifications; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes. Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations. Maintains equipment by adhering to maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs. Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. Documents actions by completing production and quality logs. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications. Exceptional time management and or organization skills. Ability to perform multiple tasks at the same time. Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishment. Good and reliable attendance and a positive attitude are a must Physical Conditions Fast paced and focused individual Lift, push and/or pull 25 pounds Stand at least 95% of scheduled shift Routinely perform reaching, twisting, bending, and grasping to move and set tools, equipment, and materials Perform under AS9100 standards Qualifications, Education and Experience High school diploma or GED required Previous non-conventional machining experience preferred but not required Have basic mechanical skills Manufacturing experience a plus Must meet the ITAR definition of §120.15 U.S. person Shift
