Classroom Teacher - English as a Second Language (ESL)| Millington Municipal Schools

Job Summary: 10-month certified position

Location: This position may serve multiple schools based on student service needs.

About the role:

Provide specialized instruction to English Learners (ELs) to support language acquisition and academic success. This role involves developing and implementing instructional strategies aligned with Tennessee state standards and ELP standards to enhance students' listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. The ESL teacher collaborates with classroom teachers, administrators, and families to ensure equitable access to the curriculum and foster an inclusive environment. Additionally, the teacher monitors student progress, provides language accommodations, and supports compliance with federal and state regulations regarding EL services.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree with a valid Tennessee teaching license.
• Endorsement in the grade/subject taught - ESL PreK-12 (Code 490)
• Governed by the Rules and Regulations of the Tennessee Code Annotated and the collective bargaining agreement.
• Must be physically and mentally able to perform the responsibilities and duties of the position.

We value honesty and transparency in our hiring process. Our salary range for teaching positions is $50,055.20 to $75,398.68, determined by verified years of experience and recognition of a Master's degree.
