We’re looking for a motivated, reliable, and dog-savvy individual to join our team as a  part-time Dog Trainer at The Dog Spot.

This role is perfect for someone who already has hands-on experience working with dogs and is looking to grow their skills in a structured, real-world training environment.

What You’ll Do:

• Work directly with dogs in training programs (foundation skills, leash work, behavior work, etc.)
• Assist with daily care, kennel duties, and maintaining a clean, safe environment
• Handle dogs of all sizes, temperaments, and energy levels
• Learn and apply our balanced training approach (clear communication, structure, and accountability)
• Communicate with clients and help guide them through lessons
• Support trainers during sessions and eventually lead lessons independently

What We’re Looking For:

• Prior experience working with dogs (training experience preferred)
• Open-minded and willing to learn a balanced training approach
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Comfortable handling multiple dogs and working in a fast-paced environment
• Good communication skills with both dogs  and people
• Team-oriented, dependable, and detail-focused

Bonus (Not Required):

• Formal dog training certifications
• Experience teaching lessons or working with clients
• Familiarity with balanced training methods
