Job Overview This role is a Part-Time Contract Data Analyst for 6 months, paying $25–$35/hour. It is a hybrid remote position based in Braintree, MA. The role requires SQL, Python/R, statistical analysis, and data visualization skills. Experience in data management and a commitment to serving veterans is preferred. Location: Braintree, MA 02184. Duration: 6 months. Key Responsibilities Data Analysis: Clean, prepare and analyze disparate and complex data sets to identify benchmarks, trends, patterns, and insights. Employ statistical techniques and software to interpret data and produce comprehensive reports. Data Visualization and Reporting: Assist with the preparation and presentation of data analysis findings through dashboards, reports, and presentations to stakeholders, including key decision‑makers and external agencies. Data Management: Maintain and manage research databases, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and security. Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations and agency policies. Propose tools and techniques to automate cyclical data capture. Assist in developing, deploying, and maintaining BI tools. Presentations: Prepare written and visual presentations that use text and graphics to summarize findings, draw conclusions, and make recommendations. Qualifications and Desired Skills Experience or Education: At least one year of full‑time or part‑time professional or technical experience performing related duties that include business data recovery, analysis, query design, reporting, and statistical analysis; or two years of college‑level classes toward a Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree with a focus in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics or a related field. Programming Languages: SQL for querying databases, Python or R preferred for data manipulation and analysis. Statistical Analysis: Understanding of statistical concepts to interpret data accurately. Data Visualization Tools: Proficiency in software like Tableau, Power BI, or Excel to create compelling visuals. Critical Thinking: Ability to analyze data objectively and draw meaningful conclusions. Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate complex data insights to non‑technical audiences. Preferred Qualifications Experience in information technology, cybersecurity, and project management. Strong analytical skills coupled with high attention to detail. Excellent writing skills. Ability to manage multiple activities and projects simultaneously. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Commitment to serving the veteran community with integrity and respect. Work Model and Business Hours The position is part‑time, Monday through Friday, except holidays. The maximum compensated workday is up to 7.5 hours per day (up to 30 hours per week). A selected candidate’s exact schedule and work location may be set with the direct supervisor. No overtime or weekend work will be required or permitted. The Office operates under a hybrid model requiring a minimum of one day per week onsite at the OVA office in Braintree, MA, with the remainder of the week remote at a supervisor‑approved location. OVA does not reimburse for employee travel to the office. Limited travel for off‑site meetings and events may be provided and reimbursed as determined in advance.
