Statement of the Job The University of Maine at Fort Kent is seeking to hire an Archives Assistant. This is a part-time, temporary position at 20 hours a week. The role supports the Acadian Archives by providing front‑line visitor services, assisting patrons with research, supporting public events and digitization projects. Pay is $18.13 per hour. Essential Duties Provide support in daily operations of the Archives including scheduling, telephone screening, greeting visitors and patrons. Assist patrons with research in history, culture, genealogy and related subjects. Conduct tours for visitors and guests. Assist with organization of public events. Respond to digital inquiries sent to office email. Support preservation of collections through digitization projects. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Excellent customer service skills. Attention to detail. Problem‑solving and critical thinking skills. Strong computer skills. Fluency in French will be considered an asset. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. At least one year of customer service experience. Reporting Relationship Director of the Acadian Archives / Archives Acadiennes.
